Deborah Wasson

Deborah Wasson was raised in the beautiful scenic Kawartha Lakes area, manifesting a creative and natural intuition in the arts as a child. She views painting as an escape from the normal routine and pressures of life, an opportunity to express the beauty and energy inside oneself.

Although she has sold a large percentage of her paintings. The first few years were an experimental process in self expression, concentrating on the inner rather than the outer. This approach has had a very positive, emotional response in her viewers. She has started to do commission paintings as well.

Winning a number of ribbons, recognition, as well as the "Future Promise Award" from Gallery on the Lake. Debbie has studied with a variety of Canadian Artists, Art Cunanan, Terry Andrews, Al Poolman, Gordon MacKenzie and has recently studies with famous Canadian painter from British Columbia, Brent Heighton in 1996, 1997, and 1999. She plans on continuing her studies more extensively in the future in New York City and other U.S. cities.

"My focus is to continue to experiment and create paintings that make the viewer feel optimistic and influencing them to focus on the positive in their life."
