Norma MacEachern

Norma MacEachern is a “work in progress “.

She was raised on a farm, and has always been a keen nature lover.  She enjoyed working in the fields, and just being outdoors in general.

She is one of 12 children. and has always been social and outgoing which served her well in her career of 36 years.

When Norma retired seven years ago, she found it difficult to adjust to all the spare time on her hands.

Norma has been interested in art since an early age and was encouraged to expand on the knowledge of drawing and perspectives.

She enrolled in Art at high school and enjoyed it but there really was nowhere to go with it when you live in a rural area.

Norma joined the Kawartha Artists Gallery and Studio and slowly filled her time with some workshops and joined the KAGS Outdoor Painters Group.

The Group gives her the opportunity to visit various places throughout Peterborough County where she can draw and paint with other like minded artists who enjoy creating art on location.

She is “playing “with the various media, working in pen and ink, oil, acrylic, pencil and watercolour.

In the last couple of years she has been teaching beginner classes in acrylic, which she enjoys.

"Slow but sure", that is her motto. You cannot rush great things, therefore she is “A Work in Progress“.

Ron Desjardine

Ron Desjardine lives in the Peterborough area.

He is primarily a watercolour artist who enjoys interpreting rural landscape features and cityscapes with energetic brush strokes.

He frequently uses bold colour and contrast to saturate a picture with a liveliness that takes advantage of the mercurial features of watercolour.

He paints with several groups in the area and shows his work several times a year.

He can be reached at: rondesjardine@gmail.com
